How can I tell if my chicks are warm enough?

As a general rule of thumb, if chicks are huddled close together under a Heat Lamp or Brooder Hen, they are likely too cold and so the unit should be moved closer to the chicks if it is safe to do so, or should be switched onto the High setting (Heat Lamps only).

If chicks are spread around the edge of the Brooder Hen or Heat Lamp area, they are too hot and so the unit should be moved further away from the chicks, or switched onto a Low setting (Heat Lamps only)
